Marketing SMS Templates (Under 160 Characters)
Promotional text message templates for sales, launches, loyalty offers and events. Each one names the sender, has one clear call to action and includes an opt-out, and the counts below show the real SMS length.
Consent first. Only text people who opted in to marketing messages. Rules vary by country. In the US, the TCPA and carrier (CTIA) guidelines expect prior express written consent for marketing texts plus clear STOP/HELP handling; in the EU/UK, the ePrivacy rules and GDPR apply. Check the rules for your country and your SMS provider's policy. These templates are not legal advice.
What makes a good marketing text
- Identify yourself at the start: “[Store]:”. Unknown senders get ignored or reported.
- One offer, one link. Put the benefit in the first 40 characters.
- Include an opt-out (“Reply STOP to opt out”) and honour it right away.
- Avoid emoji and curly quotes if you want 160 characters: one emoji drops the limit to 70. Test with the SMS character counter.
- Send at sensible hours in the recipient's time zone, and keep the frequency you promised at sign-up.
