Customization Tips

  • Find the hiring manager's name: Check LinkedIn or call the company to ask who's reviewing applications
  • Be specific about timing: Mention the exact date you applied
  • Personalize the excitement: Research the company and mention something specific that appeals to you (their mission, recent project, company culture)
  • Quantify your experience: Replace "[X years]" with actual numbers and specific skills
  • Keep it brief: This email should be concise - 3-4 short paragraphs maximum
  • Proofread carefully: Typos in a follow-up email are especially harmful
